Reactions in occupied territories to EU statement on non-recognition of 'court'

The General Secretary of the Turkish Cypriot Democratic Party (DK) and 'MP', Serhat Akpinar, reacted to a statement by the European Union regarding the 'arrested' 5 Greek Cypriots in the occupied territories. The reaction concerns references to the 'so-called state' and 'so-called justice'.
In a written statement, Mr. Akpinar called the EU's approach 'absolutely unacceptable', arguing that the entity in the occupied territories was founded 'by the free will of the people' and is 'independent and sovereign'. He also claimed that the struggle of the Turkish Cypriots is a historical reality.
Mr. Akpinar accused the EU of 'double standards', arguing that the EU 'ignores' the judicial procedures of the Greek Cypriot side, while questioning the legitimacy of the 'judicial bodies' in the occupied territories.
Furthermore, he noted that the DK supports the vision of a 'two-state solution' of the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and will continue to defend the rights of Turkish Cypriots.
