Supreme Court Rejects Tychikos' Request

The Supreme Court has rejected a request by Metropolitan Tychikos, who is currently suspended, to register a supplementary affidavit.
Metropolitan Tychikos sought the Court's permission to annul the decision of the Holy Archbishopric of Cyprus (dated 8.2.2026) regarding his indefinite suspension, as well as to issue mandamus and prohibition orders.
According to the affidavit, the move aimed to bring to the Court's attention the decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (12.03.2026) on his appeal, dated 20.01.1026, which rejected his request.
The Court stated that the proposed declaration attempts to highlight issues concerning the validity of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's decision, which could not be discussed within the framework of the licensing procedure.
The Court noted that the request cannot be accepted and the application is rejected.
