AKEL: No to threats regarding tax reform

AKEL responded to the Minister of Finance, emphasizing that tax reform cannot be achieved through threats and blackmail, but only through dialogue. Charis Polycarpou, a member of the Political Bureau of AKEL, stated that reform is necessary but must serve the majority of workers and small and medium-sized enterprises.
AKEL will submit specific proposals at the meeting with the Minister of Finance and in Parliament. Mr. Polycarpou added that President Nikos Christodoulides must understand that changes to the tax system directly affect economic and social data and cannot be made with ultimatums.
