Cabinet Approves TEPAK Marine Science School in Larnaca

The Council of Ministers has approved the establishment of the Public University School of Marine Sciences, Technology and Sustainable Development of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) in Larnaca.

The Deputy Minister to the President, Irene Piki, stated that this decision constitutes a "new chapter for university education and the development path of the city."

The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, is authorized to submit the Cyprus University of Technology Amendment Law of 2025 to Parliament.

Ms. Piki emphasized that the establishment of the School is part of the Government's strategy to strengthen higher education and academic decentralization, contributing to the regional development of Larnaca.

The School will focus on areas related to marine science, technological innovation and sustainable development.
