Mandatory Work Stoppage Due to Heatwave – Delivery Ban

The Department of Labor Inspection (TEE) announced a mandatory suspension of outdoor work due to the heatwave, following a warning from the Meteorological Service about high temperatures.

Outdoor heavy and moderate work must stop from 11:00 to 17:00. The transport or delivery of products by bicycles, motorcycles, or scooters is prohibited from 12:00 to 16:00.

The measure applies to the interior of Cyprus (areas below 300 meters altitude and more than 10 kilometers from the coast) and higher mountainous areas above 1,150 meters.

For other areas, the Code of Practice for Thermal Stress applies, with measures such as breaks in shady places and avoiding heavy meals.
