Christofinas: Aiming to Restore Fire-Affected Areas to Normalcy

The government's goal is to restore fire-affected areas to full normalcy, stated the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, Charalambos Christofinas. Mr. Christofinas participated in meetings between the Deputy Ministers of Culture and Tourism with community leaders and entrepreneurs in the area affected by the recent fires.
Mr. Christofinas noted that the Ministry of Labor is already implementing a measure for employees in the tourism industry, covering 3 months' salaries. "The program is already fully operational," he said, adding that "many of our fellow citizens have already received their compensation."
In addition, there is a plan by the Ministry of Commerce for tourist accommodations and damaged products, with an initial compensation already paid. The Commissioner urged those who have not yet applied to do so.
"The government's goal is to return to full normalcy, and that is what we are striving for," Mr. Christofinas emphasized.
