Christofinas: Aiming for Return to Normalcy in Fire-Affected Areas

The Government's goal is the swift return to normalcy in the fire-affected areas, stated the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, Charalambos Christofinas, following meetings with Deputy Ministers and community leaders.

Mr. Christofinas emphasized that the Ministry of Labor is implementing a measure to cover 3 months' salaries for employees and self-employed individuals in the tourism sector. The program is fully operational, and many have already received compensation.

He also mentioned the Ministry of Commerce's plan for tourist accommodations and damaged products, with an initial compensation payment already made. He urged those who have not yet applied to do so immediately. "The Government's goal is to return to full normalcy," he emphasized.

Mr. Christofinas asked for patience, stating that there is a strategic plan and that each action concerns the tourism product and other Ministries. He expressed his optimism about the progress of the situation.
