Christofinas: Actions Underway to Support Fire Victims in Limassol

The Commissioner for the Development of Mountainous Areas, Charalambos Christofinas, stated that actions are underway to implement support measures for fire victims in the Limassol District. Electricity has been restored to 80% and water supply to 90% in the communities. Waste removal is being planned, and ETEK has begun assessing the costs for housing restoration.

The Department of Agriculture has completed the registration of damages to agricultural land outside of KOAP, and applications for compensation for mechanical equipment are starting. Social Welfare Services are providing support to those affected, and the payment of immediate aid (€5,000-€10,000) for destroyed homes has begun. A plan of action is also underway to restore the affected land.

A meeting will be held with the responsible Minister to support affected businesses.
