Low Water Inflow to Dams Despite Rainfall

Despite increased rainfall, the water inflow to the dams in the Paphos, Larnaca, and Famagusta districts remains low compared to the same period last year.
In Paphos, the dam capacity is at 23%, according to the local Department of Water Development. The Pomos and Argaka dams have overflowed, benefiting local crops.
In the Larnaca and Famagusta districts, the situation is concerning. The Kalavasos dam is at 8% capacity (compared to 27.6% last year), the Lefkara dam at 10.8% (compared to 29.5%), and the Achna dam at 2.1% (compared to 20.8%). The Dipotamos dam is at 25% capacity (compared to 35.7% last year).
