Halkidiki: Removal of Umbrellas and Equipment from Campsite After Complaint

Crews from the Municipality of Sithonia removed umbrellas and equipment from a well-known campsite in the Kalamitsi area of Halkidiki, following a tourist's complaint about illegal constructions. The complaint was made via a video on social media.

A similar operation to remove permanent structures was also carried out on a beach in the Municipality of Polygyros. Deputy Mayor Thanasis Tsigas stated that some equipment appeared to be rented along with Airbnbs.

According to data, Halkidiki is at the top of the list of complaints about illegal activities on beaches via the MyCoast application, with 2,443 complaints.
