Vyras: Risk of layoffs in municipalities due to non-compliance with agreements

The president of the Union of Municipalities, Andreas Vyras, denounced that the government is not adhering to the agreements regarding the financial support of the municipalities. Speaking to ASTRA, Mr. Vyras stated that the 12 million euros promised by the state are not included in the budget.

Furthermore, he denounced disrespectful behavior from the Ministries of Interior and Finance, as well as arbitrary interpretation of the law. Mr. Vyras warned that if the positions of the Ministry of Finance are implemented, the municipalities will be forced to make staff layoffs.
