British warship HMS Dragon heads to Cyprus

The British destroyer HMS Dragon has departed from Portsmouth, southern England, heading towards Cyprus. The ship's mission is to reinforce the defense of British bases on the island.

HMS Dragon is considered one of the most advanced anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense ships in Europe. It is equipped with the Sea Viper anti-aircraft system, Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles, and the SAMPSON radar.

The ship has been repeatedly deployed in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Persian Gulf, participating in NATO operations and maritime security missions. It is estimated that it will take about a week to reach Cyprus.
