Video: Police Shoot Sharks in Limassol, 1997

A 1997 news report has gone viral on Tik Tok, showing police officers shooting at sharks in Limassol.

According to the report, on August 1, 1997, three sharks appeared 20 meters from the shore, in front of the Limassol Public Garden. Bathers notified the police and port authorities.

Armed police officers arrived at the scene and opened fire on the animals, forcing them to leave the area.
