Vafiadis: Dhenia - Astromeritis Road of Utmost Importance

The Government considers the construction of the new Dhenia - Astromeritis road to be a project of utmost importance for the revitalization of the region and the tackling of urbanization.

This was reaffirmed at a meeting of the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafiadis, with representatives of the communities of the Morphou, Soleas, Marathasa, and Pitsilia regions.

Mr. Vafiadis reiterated the government's will to implement the project without delay, despite reservations expressed by the communities of Akaki, Peristerona, and Astromeritis.

The Minister of Transport stated that he will meet again with the three Community Leaders to discuss the issue, stressing that without the new Dhenia - Astromeritis road, the mountainous region of Nicosia is doomed to desertification.
