Tzoufi: "Nightmarish situation" in Ziros and Filippiada

New Left MP for Ioannina, Meropi Tzoufi, described the situation in the municipalities of Ziros and Filippiada as "nightmarish" due to the fires. In a post, Ms. Tzoufi denounced the government for "festivities and empty promises" that do not effectively address the fires.
According to Ms. Tzoufi, houses, olive groves, crops, electricity, telecommunications, and water supply networks have been destroyed, and dead animals have been found. She also emphasized the need for immediate prevention measures, staff recruitment, and infrastructure reinforcement.
Ms. Tzoufi also commented on the delay in integrating 427 five-year obligation firefighters into the permanent staff, highlighting the understaffing of the service during a critical period.
New Left states that it stands by the affected, demanding immediate relief measures and restoration of damages.
