Trikala: Fifth Body Found at Violanta Factory Aftermath

The body of the fifth woman missing after the explosion and fire at the Violanta factory in Trikala has been found. The victim, Agapi Bounova, was discovered near the bodies of the other victims.
The Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes (DAEE) is investigating the causes of the tragedy, while two experts have been appointed to analyze the circumstances of the explosion. Scenarios include technical failures, infrastructure defects, or human error.
The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Giannis Kefalogiannis, stated that investigations will continue to fully clarify the events. The Mayor of Trikala proposed a three-day municipal mourning period.
Residents reported that the noise from the explosion was heard in neighboring villages, while the temperature at the factory exceeded 1,000 degrees Celsius.
One of the scenarios being considered is a propane leak that was not detected, leading to a violent explosion.
