The Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) activated the National Search and Rescue Plan "NEARCHOS" on August 4, 2025, following a report of an injury in the sea caves area of Ayia Napa. A tourist was injured after falling on rocks.

The Famagusta Fire Department, the Disaster Response Special Unit (EMAK), and an ambulance from the OKYPY Ambulance Service participated in the operation. The injured woman was transferred to Famagusta General Hospital.

The JRCC reminds the public that approaching and diving in the sea caves of Cape Greco is strictly prohibited due to dangerous terrain with increased erosion, according to the Department of Geological Survey.
