Turkish Cypriot Media Allege 'Obstacles' to Kokkina Access

Turkish Cypriot media report on alleged 'obstacles' imposed by Greek Cypriot authorities on crossings to Kokkina, coinciding with the anniversary of the bombings of Tillyria.
According to reports, there were 'obstacles' at the Limnitis/Kato Pyrgos crossing point by the Republic of Cyprus authorities on the convoy of buses heading to the Kokkina enclave, marking the 61st anniversary of the 'resistance of Kokkina'.
Turkish Cypriot websites claim that 'hundreds of citizens who wanted to attend the ceremony were prevented for a while by the UN Peacekeeping Forces at the border crossing due to the restriction by the Greek Cypriot administration on the number of vehicles that would pass'.
Intervention by the occupation authorities is also mentioned, claiming that 'the problem was resolved with the intervention of officials from the ministry of foreign affairs of the trnc'.
The convoy, escorted by UNFICYP forces, eventually passed at 8 a.m.
