Lecturer Athanasios Maimaris Passes Away at 51

Lecturer Athanasios Maimaris has passed away at the age of 51, causing grief in the academic community and the LIONS Club of Kyrenia, where he served as First Deputy Governor.

The news of his death was announced by the Club, which praised the deceased's contribution. "We are shocked by the news of the death of our beloved First Deputy Governor, Lion Athanasios Maimaris. Our friend Athos, L. Maimaris was the mainstay of our Club," the announcement stated.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Apostle Andreas in Platy Aglantzias. The burial will take place at the new Strovolos cemetery (Chalebianes).

Instead of wreaths, the family requests that donations be made in their favor.
