Fatal Accident in Larnaca: Anastasios Michaelides Dies

A fatal traffic accident occurred today in Larnaca, claiming the life of Anastasios Michaelides, 80, from Aradippou.

According to the Police, the accident happened around 11:15 AM when the vehicle driven by the 80-year-old was traveling against the flow of traffic on the highway from the Rizoelias roundabout towards the Kalo Chorio Larnaca roundabout. This resulted in a head-on collision with a taxi driven by a 32-year-old European citizen, a permanent resident of Nicosia, who was driving normally.

As a result of the severe collision, Anastasios Michaelides was fatally injured. The taxi driver was seriously injured, but his health condition is good. Both were taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where the death of the 80-year-old was confirmed.

The highway from Kalo Chorio to Larnaca airport was closed due to the accident but has since been reopened to traffic.
