Traffic Congestion in Lefkada Due to Floating Bridge Replacement

Residents and visitors of Lefkada are complaining about increased inconvenience caused by the temporary replacement of the floating bridge with a ferry boat.

According to Lefkada News, traffic towards the bridge is particularly heavy, with congestion reaching Kalligoni and before the Teke Fortress. The situation worsens during peak hours.

According to FEK 4510 B’/2024, from June 1st to September 15th, the opening of the floating bridge is at 08:00, 10:00, 14:00, 17:00, 19:00, 21:00, and 22:00, for 10-15 minutes. From September 16th to May 31st, the opening is at 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, and 22:00.

Interruptions in the flow of vehicles due to the ferry boat are considered a major cause of congestion.
