ISOTITA Union Files New Lawsuit for Police Officers' Days Off

The Police Branch of the Isotita Union announced on Monday that it will file a second legal request to the Justice system, for the correct calculation of working hours that determine police officers' days off and, consequently, related compensation.
In a written statement, the President of the Police Branch of the Union, Nikos Loizidis, states that the days off should exceed 29.5 annually, instead of 19.5, due to the multiplication of additional working hours, while a similar correction is required for the 11×36 schedule, which has been miscalculated to 4.75.
The President of the Police Branch of the Union stressed that the claims, if successful, could lead to financial compensation for all members of the Security Forces, possibly retroactively, for the reductions in days off and the incomplete compensation recorded since 1998, amounting to millions of euros.
At the same time, he mentions that the Administrative Court today rejected the temporary order to freeze the previous decision of the Chief of Police regarding days off, setting the hearing of the main appeal on April 21, 2026.
The Union declares full confidence in the institutions of justice to restore the moral and legal injustice.
