Nearly €2M Spent on Cyprus Dams Maintenance

The Water Development Department (ΤΑΥ) announced that nearly €2 million has been spent on the maintenance of dams in Cyprus over the past decade. In addition, over €2.8 million has been allocated for targeted projects in the period 2025-2027.
According to the announcement, the safety of dams is an absolute priority. The TAY has strengthened the responsible Dam Safety Service and utilizes specialized contractors for the implementation of projects.
Despite staffing difficulties due to the economic crisis, the TAY is in the process of recruiting staff and utilizing the experience of older executives. The goal is to complete critical interventions within schedule and establish a permanent annual preventive maintenance program.
The TAY assures that it will continue with transparency and consistency its mission to manage and protect the water resources of Cyprus.
