Work Stoppage at Goldair Handling at Larnaca Airport

Employees of Goldair Handling Cyprus Ltd at Larnaca Airport held a work stoppage from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The company is involved in ground handling services for aircraft.
According to Giorgos Christou, organizational secretary of SEK Larnaca, a ten-day warning had been given for the mobilization, which was communicated to the Ministry of Labor and Hermes Airports.
The disputes began when the company decided not to serve all airlines, affecting the salaries of employees who did not move to other companies. Approximately 30 people are out of work, while the company has paid the owed wages except for some allowances.
The employees are demanding compliance with collective agreements and are awaiting a response from the company and the Ministry of Labor.
Two flights were affected due to the work stoppage.
