Fire Prevention Seminars in Cyprus Schools

The Ministry of Education and the Cyprus Fire Service are collaborating to conduct fire prevention and response seminars in schools. The Minister of Education, Athena Michaelidou, announced that the seminars will begin with the start of the new school year.

In a meeting with the Chief Fire Officer, Nikos Logginos, and other stakeholders, Ms. Michaelidou emphasized the importance of creating a new culture of prevention among students. The seminars will be aimed at students of all ages, from preschool to high school, as well as teachers.

Mr. Logginos expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration and stressed the need to inform the new generation due to the climate crisis. Retired firefighters will also participate in the seminars, sharing their experience with the students.

The President of the Cyprus Retired Firefighters Organization, Panikos Tsouderos, thanked the Minister of Education and the Minister of Justice, Marios Hartsiotis, for their support. The Director of Social and Corporate Responsibility of the Bank of Cyprus, Elli Ioannidou, stated the readiness of the Support CY network to assist in the program.
