SAPEL Reacts to Potential Sale of Digenis' Tomb to Russian Investors

The Association of Fighters of the City and District of Limassol (SAPEL) has expressed its opposition to a new attempt to commercially exploit the EOKA Headquarters in Limassol, where the tomb and monument of General Georgios Grivas Digenis are located.
In a letter, SAPEL denounces that the Cypriot Government has allowed the direct international commercial exploitation of the site, calling the act "sacrilege and voluntary humiliation." The Association opposes any relocation of the tomb and calls on "prospective investors" to consider their decisions.
The issue of commercial exploitation of the site, which belongs to the General Georgios Grivas Digenis Foundation based in Athens, began a decade ago and was renewed in 2024, causing reactions.
