S. Hatzigiannis: Progress on Foot-and-Mouth Disease Measures

The Mayor of Southern Nicosia, Stavros Hatzigiannis, stated to the Cyprus News Agency (CYPE) that the suggestions of the mayors regarding preventive measures for managing foot-and-mouth disease are being heard by the Department of Agriculture.

Mr. Hatzigiannis had expressed concerns on Tuesday regarding the coordination and responsibilities of the Department of Agriculture, especially in mixed zones. However, he mentioned that the problem is moving towards resolution.

Furthermore, he noted that the installation of automated vehicle spraying systems has begun, and warning signs are being placed.
