Cracks in Ayios Neophytos Monastery in Paphos After Earthquake

Cracks have appeared in various parts of the Ayios Neophytos Monastery in Paphos following Wednesday's earthquake.
Bishop of Chytroi and Abbot of the Monastery, Leontios, stated that he has contacted the Department of Antiquities, which will visit the monastery to record and restore the damage.
At least two cracks were found in the monastery's church, a significant religious monument with 15th-century Byzantine frescoes. A parallel line formed in the northern aisle, while a large crack about six meters long formed in the corridor outside the catholicon.
Damage was also recorded in a listed building on Athinas Street in the center of Paphos and in the community of Kelokedara, where an old wall collapsed. There was a rockfall on the Paphos to Tsada road.
A new earthquake was felt in Paphos around 06:46 on Thursday morning.
