Rhodes: Luna Park Shut Down After Accident

The Municipality of Rhodes has suspended the operation of a luna park in Kremasti following an accident in which four young people were injured. The operating license was revoked until the facilities are re-inspected.

According to the Municipality's announcement, the decision to suspend the luna park's operation was made after an accident on Friday, August 15, 2025. The Rhodes Municipality's Directorate of Commerce, Energy and Industry, in cooperation with the Ialyssos Police Department, immediately stopped the operation of the specific machine.

The company held a legal operating license, having submitted all the necessary certificates. However, following the accident, new technical inspection documents and certificates are required for the re-operation.

During the accident, one of the seats detached, throwing four people. The 64-year-old owner of the luna park and a 62-year-old relative, who is the operations manager, were arrested.
