Fire Service: 39 Calls, Icon Stand Fire in Aglantzia

The Cyprus Fire Service responded to 39 calls for assistance in the last three days, according to an announcement. The calls included 20 fires and 19 special services.

Key incidents:

• Kalavasos, Larnaca: A house fire was caused by heat loss in the fireplace chimney. The fire was brought under control but caused damage to the wooden roof.
• Paphos-Limassol highway: A traffic collision near Erimi. The Fire Service extricated the driver, who was transported to the Limassol General Hospital.
• Aglantzia, Nicosia: A fire in a house's icon stand. The fire was extinguished by the owner's domestic helper before the arrival of the Fire Service. The icon stand and surrounding area were damaged.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire in Aglantzia.
