Limassol Fires: Christodoulides Urges Rapid Support Measures

President Christodoulides has emphasized the rapid implementation of support measures for the areas affected by the fires in mountainous Limassol. During the Council of Ministers meeting, he expressed satisfaction with the progress made but stressed the need for full implementation of decisions.
Ministry of Interior: Compensation has been approved and is being paid to 236 out of 295 eligible cases. Cost estimates for partially damaged buildings have been completed.
Ministry of Commerce: Support measures are being implemented for businesses and the self-employed. The EAC has restored power to 92% of the affected areas.
Ministry of Agriculture: Financial assistance of €2,299,147 has been granted to 775 farmers and livestock breeders.
Ministry of Transport: Financial assistance has been approved for owners of vehicles and machinery that have been damaged. Initial estimates amount to €655,000.
Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare: Financial assistance is being provided to 115 out of 222 affected families.
Additionally, the arrival of American experts is expected to assess fire management measures and submit recommendations.
