Fire Under Control in Pomos Community

A fire broke out on the outskirts of Paphos Forest, in the Pomos Community, Symvoulas area, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 12:35.

The immediate intervention of the Department of Forests led to the fire being brought under full control at 12:55. The fire burned approximately half a decare with wild grasses and low shrub vegetation.

Ten people from the Department of Forests participated in the extinguishing operation with three fire trucks.

The area is characterized as high risk due to dense vegetation and strong winds. The Department of Forests had taken preventive measures, such as clearing grasses, which contributed to limiting the fire.

A fire truck remains in the area to prevent flare-ups. The causes of the fire are under investigation.
