House Fire in Strovolos – Two Children Preventatively Hospitalized

A house in Strovolos, Nicosia, caught fire. According to the Fire Department, at 12:30, fire trucks from Nicosia responded to a call about a fire in a room-kitchen on the first floor of a two-story house.

The fire caused extensive damage to the kitchen, its equipment, and the building's paint. Firefighters entered the house with breathing apparatuses. The residents had already left the house when they noticed the fire.

Two young children were taken to the A&E of Nicosia Hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation. The fire appears to have started from an electrical problem in an electrical appliance, according to the Electromechanical Service.
