Fire at Recycling Plant in Ypsonas, Limassol

The Fire Department is responding to a fire that broke out at a recycling and waste management plant in the Ypsonas area of Limassol.

Strong firefighting forces have been dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire. Thick black smoke is visible from various parts of the city.

According to a Fire Department announcement, the response occurred at 10:59 from the Limassol Fire Stations with two fire trucks for a fire in a pile of scrap materials and metals (scrap metals and other items) in an open and fenced area of a management plant in the Agios Sylas area of Limassol. Extinguishing is in progress, and the management establishment and employees in the area are not at risk. Additionally, materials are being moved using a forklift to prevent the fire from spreading further.
