President: Paphos-Polis Chrysochous Highway to Proceed as Planned

President Nikos Christodoulides has assured that the four-lane highway from Paphos to Polis Chrysochous will proceed as planned, based on the announcements made last December. The President emphasized that the government will not allow the state to be held hostage by problematic contracts.
During the inauguration of development projects in Polis Chrysochous, the President reaffirmed the commitment to construct the highway, which will also include additional access via Mesogi, in addition to the existing one from Agia Marinouda. The project is scheduled for completion by 2030–2032.
The Council of Ministers approved the call for tenders for the first phase of the highway, while the call for the second phase, concerning the section from Polis to Stroumpi, is expected within the first quarter of 2026.
President Christodoulides stressed the government's determination to terminate problematic contracts, based on the public interest and the sound management of public funds.
