The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, assured that the State stands by the relatives of the victims of the Helios Airways tragedy. The statement was made during a memorial service for the victims at the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi and Panagia Eleftherotria, in Mosfiloti.

President Christodoulides emphasized that the current government has begun implementing decisions for those who suffered financial losses due to the 2013 economic crisis, with special care for the families of the victims.

The ceremony was attended by relatives, friends of the victims, state representatives, and many people. The President acknowledged the strength of the relatives and referred to Vasos Georgiou, who built the holy church together with his wife, who was a victim of the tragedy.

The church is a "point of reference of love" and a monument of resilience, as stated by the President.
