New Year's Eve Snowfall: Troodos Mountains Covered

Snowfall has been reported in the Troodos Mountains since Wednesday afternoon, on New Year's Eve. A video published by Kitasweather captured the event, while sleet and rain were reported at lower altitudes.
According to the Department of Meteorology, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the west, north, and mountainous areas. Snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will be moderate to strong, with gusts up to 6 Beaufort on the coasts. Temperatures will range from 2 degrees Celsius in the mountains to 13 degrees Celsius on the coast.
A yellow warning is in effect until 22:00 due to strong winds and possible thunderstorms with hail.
