Rain and Thunderstorm Forecast for Clean Monday Holiday Weekend

Cloudy skies and local rain are expected during the Clean Monday holiday weekend, according to Meteorological Officer Iasonas Christodoulou. Temperatures will rise on Saturday, while Sunday and Clean Monday will see a drop.
On Saturday, the weather will be mainly clear initially, with possible isolated showers in the mountains and north. The temperature will reach 21 to 22 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast.
On Sunday, local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially in the western half of the island and later in the other areas. Snow or sleet is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos.
On Clean Monday, there is a chance of isolated rain, while later local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature on Sunday will drop to 18 degrees Celsius, and on Monday it will remain at about the same level.
Some rain is likely in the morning hours of Clean Monday, while the phenomena will be more extensive during noon and early afternoon. Hail is not expected unless a thunderstorm develops.
