PEO Protest in Nicosia: Police Issue Guidance

PEO is organizing a protest in Nicosia today on the theme of "Safety and Health at Work." The protest will begin at 5 p.m. from the PEO building on Archeremou Street and will end at the Ministry of Labor on Spyrou Kyprianou Street.

The Police will be present in the area to ensure the smooth running of the protest and calls on participants to comply with police instructions.

The Police reminds that, according to the Public Gatherings and Parades Law 151(I) of 2025, organizers must ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the gathering and cooperate with the authorities.

The legislation also allows the Police to impose restrictions or even dissolve a gathering if it ceases to be peaceful or there is a risk of damage.

In addition, the Police may order the removal of objects that make a person unrecognizable if there is suspicion that the gathering is about to become non-peaceful.
