Kurdish Protest in Nicosia Marks Anniversary of Ă–calan's Arrest

A group of Kurds living in Cyprus marched to the Greek Embassy in Nicosia on Sunday, marking the 27th anniversary of the arrest of Abdullah Ă–calan, leader of the PKK.
According to a statement by the Kurdistan Cultural Center "Theophilos," protesters demanded Ă–calan's release and recognition of Rojava.
The march began near the "Carlsberg" factory between Latsia and Idaliou, proceeded to the Ministry of Interior, and concluded at the Greek Embassy, where a black wreath was placed. Police reported that the protest concluded peacefully.
In its statement, the Kurdistan Cultural Center "Theophilos" expressed solidarity with the Kurdish people and condemned Ă–calan's arrest.
