Motorcyclists' Helmet and Gear Payments by End of August

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that payments for approved grants for the purchase of protective equipment for motorcyclists are expected to be completed by the end of August. The payment process is being handled by the Ministry's Accounting Office.

The third phase of the grant scheme, which started in 2022 and ended in 2025, received a total of 1,440 applications, of which 102 concerned equipment for 'low power' motorcycles and 1,338 for 'high power' motorcycles.

Ultimately, 650 motorcyclists secured the grant. Specifically, 607 applications were approved for 'high power' motorcycles and 43 for 'low power' ones.

The total amount to be allocated in grants during the third phase amounts to approximately €323,000, which corresponds to 92% of the available budget. The scheme was offered in a total of three phases, with an annual budget of €350,000 and a total budget of €1,050,000.
