Perseids: When to See Them Clearly in the Cyprus Sky

The Perseid meteor shower is visible in Cyprus from July 17th to August 24th. Astrophysicist Chrysanthos Fakas recommends the nights of August 12th and 13th for optimal viewing.

The radiant point is located in the northeastern sky. Observation is recommended after 11 PM. A full moon will occur on August 12th.

The Perseids are caused by the Earth's orbit through the debris of the Swift-Tuttle comet. The Astronomical Society of Cyprus (ASTREK) is organizing an astronomical evening in Kyperounta on August 12, 2025.
