Power Cuts in Cyprus Due to High Temperatures and Power Plant Failure

Power cuts occurred in various regions of Cyprus due to high temperatures, increased demand, and a failure at the Vasilikos power plant.

According to the energy administrator, the power cut started at 6:40 PM and affected areas throughout Cyprus, in order to maintain the safety of the system.

The interruption did not exceed 30 minutes for each consumer group.

An earlier announcement stated that until 10:00 PM, the sufficiency of the electricity supply is expected to be marginal, and citizens are urged to reduce energy consumption.
