Paralimni-Deryneia: Actions Against Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia has started the construction of wheel disinfection tanks (wheel baths) in the livestock areas of Frenaros, Deryneia and Acheritou, aiming to protect against foot-and-mouth disease.

In the Frenaros area, the Municipality, in consultation with the Department of Agriculture and the Veterinary Services, proceeded to cut off the roads leading to the area, except for the two points where the wheel disinfection tanks are being constructed, in order to strictly control access.

The Mayor of Paralimni – Deryneia, Giorgos Nikolettos, stressed the importance of immediate action and called for greater support from the state.

The Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia called on industry professionals to strictly adhere to biosecurity measures.
