Command of the JRCC Handed Over to Lieutenant Commander Giorgos Oikonomou

The handover ceremony of the Command of the JRCC from Lieutenant Commander Andreas Charalambides to Lieutenant Commander Giorgos Oikonomou took place on Monday.
In a statement, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center JRCC states that "Lieutenant Commander Andreas Charalambides PN, as Commander of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center of the Republic of Cyprus, from December 2018 to date, led a multifaceted and demanding effort to further upgrade the JRCC and the Republic's SAR system in general, thus contributing to the broader effort to establish Cyprus as a hub for the provision of humanitarian services in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region."
The staff of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center "feels particularly honored to have served under your command. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wish you wholeheartedly health and a good career," the JRCC announcement concludes.
