Paphos: Thousands of Counterfeit Goods Seized in Raids

Over 6,500 items of clothing, accessories, and other products, suspected of being imitations of branded trademarks, were seized in a coordinated operation by the Police and the Department of Customs at six stores in the Paphos district.
The operation, conducted between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., was carried out by the Intellectual Property Theft and Illegal Betting Crime Combating Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Customs, following information about the sale of counterfeit goods.
The seized items include 6,624 pieces of clothing, accessories such as hats, bags, wallets, belts, sunglasses, and mobile phone cases. A preliminary inspection confirmed that the products are imitations, and the case is being further investigated by the Department of Customs.
The operation is part of a European program to combat the illegal trafficking of goods that violate intellectual property rights.
