Paphos: Raids on Stores, 6,500 Counterfeit Products Seized

Police and the Customs Department seized 6,500 products believed to be imitations of various commercial brands, following a raid on stores in the Paphos district.
The search operation took place in six stores in Paphos, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., by the Intellectual Property Theft and Illegal Betting Crime Combating Unit of the Cybercrime Sub-Directorate of the Police Headquarters, in cooperation with the Customs Department, following information about the sale of counterfeits.
A total of 6,624 items were seized, including clothing, accessories (hats, bags, wallets, belts, sunglasses), and mobile phone cases. The Customs Department's inspection confirmed that the products were counterfeit. The Customs Department continues the investigation.
The operation is part of a European program to combat the illegal trafficking of goods that violate intellectual property rights.
