Total Lunar Eclipse: Tonight the Moon Will Turn Red

A total lunar eclipse, also known as a 'blood moon,' will occur today, Sunday, September 7, and will be visible in Cyprus.
A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon's surface. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon takes on a deep red or copper color.
The total duration of the eclipse will be 5 hours and 27 minutes, with the total phase lasting approximately 1 hour and 21 minutes.
The Troodos Observatory is organizing a special event to observe the phenomenon.
The phenomenon will be fully visible from Cyprus, with the moon rising at approximately 18:59. A partial eclipse will occur at 19:28, and at 20:30 the moon will be completely covered by the Earth's shadow.
The eclipse reaches its peak at 21:12 and ends at 23:55.
