Cyprus' Mountain Regions Prepare for Winter

Residents of the mountainous regions of Cyprus are declaring their readiness to welcome the winter, which has been slow to arrive. Many have already stocked up on wood for their fireplaces in anticipation of the cold days ahead.
On December 29th, in Kakopetria, the thermometer read 12 degrees Celsius at noon. Residents are anticipating the rise in the water levels of the Karkotis and Garryllis rivers, which cross the community and supply water to the Solea valley, via the Klarios river, all the way to the bay of Morphou.
