The Municipality of Dromolaxia – Meneou has issued guidelines to local livestock farmers, in cooperation with the Veterinary Services, following the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Livadia and Oroklini.

Municipal Secretary Kyriakos Sotiriou stated that specific guidelines have been provided to prevent the spread of the virus. According to the instructions, farmers must keep their animals separate from wild and unregistered animals, implement insecticide and rodenticide measures, use disinfectants, and take biosecurity precautions.

Furthermore, the movement of animals without the approval of the Veterinary Services is prohibited. The Municipality will close roads and place disinfectant mats to prevent the spread of the virus.

Mr. Sotiriou emphasized the need to immediately comply with the guidelines to protect animals and prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
